Gowdy: ‘I Would Love for Tim Scott to Run for President’

Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) threw fellow GOP South Carolina Congressman Tim Scott’s name out as a future presidential candidate.

“I would love Tim Scott to run for president,” Gowdy stated. “Whether it’s 2024, whenever it fits his heart, but he has a cheery, optimistic brand of conservatism that I think our country would benefit from and, quite frankly, whether he won or not, our country would be better off hearing someone with his life story, the grandson of man who couldn’t read, picked cotton, then he grew up to pick out a seat in the United States House of Representatives. That’s a story I wish my fellow citizens could hear.”

I also would love Tim Scott to run to run for President.

But Nikki Haley is from SC also. And she has the executive, domestic and foreign policy experience... and she is a far more dynamic, charismatic personality than thoughtful Tim Scott.... nice guy Mike Pence.

After Trump, Nikki Haley is the strongest national candidate the Republicans have.

Here’s my take on Gowdy FWIW. It’s been clear for a while, that Gowdy is and has been a swamp critter all along. He’s very good at saying all the right things and getting nothing done (or worse). Think Ted Cruz and Paul Ryan as examples. They’re performers, and Gowdy was a good performer, but at some point the disconnect between words and actions becomes impossible to hide. Then the Jig is up.

I’ve heard it said that as much as 70% of Congress is compromised in some way - either criminal misconduct or personal blackmail (i.e. not illegal but embarrassing) or both. Whatever the actual number, it’s clearly a significant percent. For the last 6 months Q has been telling people to watch the resignations and that there are no coincidences. Keep that in mind when trying to make sense of all the recent resignations.

The basic outline of the resignations is this. Someone on Trump’s team sits the individual down, shows them the information they have on them, then gives them a choice. We will either pursue this matter or you can choose to resign. It’s a pretty clear choice for most. Think Chaffetz. As part of the deal signed by both parties, the terms are kept confidential and only revealed if one party breaches the agreement.

Now compare Chaffetz post resignation behavior with Gowdy’s. Chaffetz had been obstructing Trump’s agenda, (was he being blackmailed?) but once he was freed, he’s acted in good faith. Compare that with Gowdy. He’s bowed out because he had no choice but is now going against at least the intent of whatever confidentiality agreement he signed. He continues to make subtle digs at Trump and play the holier than thou victim routine rather than being grateful for the break he was offered. Gowdy has no honor.

CONSERVATIVE TALKIES RESPONDING TO THE MEDIA’S WAR ON THE NRA, GUNS, AND THE 2ND AMENDMENT FOLLOWING MEDIA’S ROE ONLY AIDS THEM IN CONCEALING THE POLICY FAILURES WHICH PERMITTED PARKLAND TO OCCUR
WAS PARKLAND AN IDYLLIC SCHOLASTIC SETTING OR A NIGHTMARE
Only an investigation will either dispel or prove that with those policies enforced. Students had all kinds of disciplinary problems (drugs, thefts fights etc) when attending classses there. Were scholastic standards lowered to fit fed DOJ grants ?
WHERE WAS THE DEMAND FOR FEDERAL AND STATE INVESTIGATIONS ????
It’ was not guns or the NRA It’s policies which had cops standing outside while killing was going on or some nut getting a gun the FBI knew he wasn’t suppose to... Plus a whole raft of other stuff
WAS THE DEMAND FOR STATE AND FED INVESTIGATION ON THE POLICIES WHICH CAUSED THIS
NOT CONSIDERED BY FLORIDA POLS BECAUSE THE RESULT WOULD BE LAW SUITS AGAINST THE STATE ???

sCOTT could have deflected the media’s continuing attack as well as Rubio. What’s significant about this it happened on Scott’s watch ( no direct blame on Scott) which as it is probably will wind up in Florida courts as a legal mess.

I read on Treehouse that Gowdy’s net worth skyrocketed. Maybe he’s leaving the House to spend the money?

It can go either way...

“Couldn’t care less” is pretty straightforward,

BUT

“Could care less” implies total lack of caring squared. I.e. I don’t even care enough to care less.

So:

I could care less, but I don’t even care enough to care

Endorsement from the deep state. Not a good sign.

“Could care less” implies total lack of caring squared

Not in English, it doesn't.

You're saying you have the capacity to care less than you do now.

On the other hand, "could not care less," says that you have reached the absolute minimum level of caring.
