Cartel violence in Tijuana continues at an alarming rate in 2018 with 549 homicides registered in the first three months, according to government statistics. A total of 184 killings were noted in March alone, according to local reports.
Breitbart Texas previously reported that one of the problems cited by the state attorney generals office of Baja California is that most homicides go unsolved. Of 132 registered homicides to start 2018, only five resulted in arrests with a total of 11 suspects detained.
The bloodshed continues despite the deployment of 400 elements of the Mexican Army there to crack down on cartel violence plaguing the once-popular tourist destination.
Tijuana sits on the U.S. border with California, approximately 17 miles south of San Diego. A brief look at both cities reveals that San Diego has a population of 1.4 million compared to Tijuanas 1.8 million. In 2016 and 2017 respectfully, Tijuana finished with 910 and 1,734 homicides while San Diego registered 50 and 34 for each year in straight comparisons, local journalists found at the time.

I thought NAFTA was going to raise the social class of Mexican citizens and end corruption and violence!
I don’t wish I was in Tijuana, eating barbecued iguana.
Build that wall now!
And that traffic circle is one rodeo...for sure!!
Nothing short of a Dresden style carpet bombing will put an end to that in Mexico’s impoverished areas.
Yes!
Wrong part of Mexico. No iguanas in Baja. But you could get some barbecued chivo.
I read the ‘caravan’ was planning to enter the US from Baja. At this rat maybe one or two will show up.
Send the Camera Hogg there to march against violence.
I hope the left in CA will get on this pronto! Can't have a disparity like this. Spread the pain and misery is one of their mottos.
This is what happens to outspoken 17-year-olds in that part of the world:
A 17-year-old YouTube star insulted a notorious drug lord. The teen was found with at least 15 bullet wounds.

And Hogg thinks that the USA has a problem with violence.
But how can this be????? Mexico has strict gun control laws.
Ping.
Gee, that sounds like a s***hole.
Tragic. There is much to disparage about Mexico’s government, but civilians there dare not speak their minds. So many journalists, cops and judges have been murdered for fighting against drug dealers.
I was just telling my daughter about this the other day when we got to talking about "the mob" in the States and around the world. It's a really horrible thing. I've read about law enforcement down there trying to do the right thing, and it never ends up well for the person.
“Gee, that sounds like a s***hole.”
Chicago wannabes.
Somewhere city officials in Chicago are going...
“See? See? We’re not that bad.”
