The biggest problem the U.S will have is political will. Politicians are already trying to bail on Trump because stocks dip a bit. Repukes and Rats should be telling Trump to do more and make the Chinese know that there is support to win this war

Your attitude bis really the only way China wins this war. The country has to think broader than daily stock prices. Unity is absolutely key in winning otherwise the Chicoms will just wait out a Trump who has no political backing. I’m hoping the Dems also back him on this

It's like the quote from William T. Sherman:

"War is cruelty. There is no use trying to reform it; the crueler it is, the sooner it will be over."

If China knew that Trump had solid political support, this thing would end right quick. And that would be better for everyone.

No this is beyond north Korea. This is about the survival of our country. We must win this battle and not get distracted with concessions.

I think Trump has a lot of support.

That is why he won. He has a lot of people who are sick and tired of everyone selling out America, to the world’s largest communist country. Ever.

Trump you have a (lot) of support.

Actually, I was addressing the opinion of Russians by the American Left. Not what the Russians were or weren’t.

Throwing danger at the feet of WTO with implicit threat to withdraw.

I love it.

If the US pulls out of WTO, it is literally the end of the world as we know it.

The ChiComs may turn this into an opportunity to use T Bills/debt/currency manipulation to devalue the dollar.

“We import $375,000,000,000 from them.”

We import over $500 billion per year from China.

And export about $125 billion back, for a $375 bil deficit.

Our imports account for approx 5% of their GDP. And nearly 90% of their trade surplus.

A 30 day import freeze is in order. That would either drive them to submission and shame, or full economic implosion as their debt bubble collapses.

NO! Nvidia was bought at $62 and went up 4 time in a year and a half. It will still go up and up once the trade war is over.

“use T Bills/debt/currency manipulation to devalue the dollar”

That’s NOT the way it works, but a devalued dollar is to our advantage internationally. Too bad that’s not what would happen.

What would happen is it would devalue the treasuries China is holding and selling. And it might marginally drive up the interest we pay on Federal debt.

It doesn’t help them at all.

“will still go up”

Unless the company goes bankrupt because it cannot export to the US.

Which accounts for a major portion of their sales.
