I think too there is the feeling of “safety in numbers” with these types: if “everybody” gets abortions, then I must not be a “bad person”...

He is right. Abortion causes a condition called an “incompetent cervix” in 33% of the women who have abortions.
In this condition, the cervix will begin to open weeks before the fetus is viable, frequently in the 20th week or so.
This is why so many babies are born premature these days.
My daughter had two abortions behind my back, and ended up losing two babies to the condition the abortions caused. The treatment for this is a surgical closure of the cervix at 12 weeks, and bed rest for the entire pregnancy. The suture is removed (without anesthesia)at 36 weeks to allow for a normal labor. Thanks to this procedure I have two grandchildren. Sharon Osborne has been very helpful in education women about the connection between abortions and subsequent premature births.

Marie Claire, for example, says, “Jeremy Irons, man who has never had an abortion, has a strong and surprisingly off-base opinion on the subject.” There are certainly many men whose children have been aborted, either with their assent or against their will, who have deeply regretted it later in life. Abortion, like divorce, is the "gift" that keeps on giving. It's never over, especially for the man who wanted children one day but never managed to find the right woman or the right circumstances.
I've also met women who had an abortion during their 20s and thought nothing of it—until they were unable to get pregnant when they finally got married in their late 30s, or had a miscarriage of a wanted child. Then, it hits them.
