West Virginia

Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- Governor Jim Justice of West Virginia has signed a reform bill to ensure that West Virginians can exercise their Second Amendment rights during travel. The Governor signed the bill HB 4187, on Friday, March 23rd. The bill passed the House with 85 Yea votes to 14 Nays, on February 27th. It passed the Senate on 9 March, 32 to 1, then had to return to the House because of two amendments that passed the Senate. It passed the House again, on 10 March, 87-11. From wdtv.com:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) — Governor Jim Justice has signed a bill to allow people to keep firearms locked in their vehicles while parked on their employer's property.

Here is the summary of HB 4187. It limits the ability of businesses to forbid firearms in private vehicles that park in their parking lots. The reason for the bill is to ensure that private employers cannot prevent employees from exercising their right to bear arms on the way to and from work. West Virginia joins 22 other states that have enacted similar protections.  Summary From HB 4187:

The purpose of this bill is to create the “Business Liability Protection Act”. The bill includes the right to limit possession of firearms on certain premises and definitions. It also provides for misdemeanor criminal offense and penalty. It prohibits employers from certain specific actions against a person when that person possesses a firearm legally, including a condition of employment.

If he gets appointed to the supreme court he will be Justice Justice.

If I was Donald Trump I think I’d do it for no other reason than that.

I was hooked by the bizarre logic and black comedy of Catch-22 the first time I read it, at about age 12. I’ve re-read it every couple of years since then. Twenty-plus readings later, I am still not bored by it.

I found it to be a leftist fantasy against Western Civilization, using the randomness and chaos of war to give it a bit of plausibility.

I took it, and still take it, as a satirical send-up of government bureaucracy using the military, and the chaos of war, to better illustrate how it is fundamentally harmful to freedom, particularly individual freedom.

"If he gets appointed to the supreme court he will be Justice Justice."

In South Louisiana, "Major" is a common surname in my home parish (Pointe Coupee). A member of the National Guard unit from Pointe Coupee of that surname held the enlisted rank of "Sergeant-Major".

Hence:

Sergeant-Major Major

And that NOT a hypothetical...but the absolute truth.

Yes, it is satire. Kind of like Mash was satire.

I recall one Doctor veteran of Korea who absolutely hated Mash with a passion, because it showed such a false representation of reality.

Catch-22 has made its way into the American lexicon. I admit that is not all bad.

We’ve had a similar law in Alabama since 2013. Hoplophobic HR cat ladies HATE such laws. Of course, people did it anyway before the law. Not that I kept my guns locked in my truck before that. No sir :-O

Will this protect a person from being cited while having a firearm locked in his/her car while in/on a VA Hospital lot? or other Federal Property parking lot? Like a National Park?

That’s probably related to their abysmally low homicide clearance rate, around 15% for 2018.

Lower right here:
