You have a duty to stop and render assistance.
The law applies to cops and the fact they were responding to a call is no excuse.
A hit and run is a felony. Any one else doing it would be in jail.
Absolutely and with no qualifiers or extenuating circumstances???
Sure, Go ahead and be a cop, trying to control a anti-cop protest, hit some idiot who walks in front of your car, get out and get lynched by the mob.
You first.

With all due respect (virtually none), you, sir, are an idiot (or a troll).
No one does not have to stop in a mob. Ever.
Five states, North Dakota, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Texas, have or are
in the process of passing legislation
which absolves the driver from any
liability, as long as the driver does not
intentionally target the protester.
Failure to stop and render aid is not
enforceable in some circumstances.
The officer in this case would be
putting his life in jeopardy, as an
angry mob likely would have beat him
to death.

LOL - Did you watch the video? hit and run? It was more like nudge at 1 mph and then continue on the way VERY SLOWLY.
The 1 mph nudge was quickly followed by (no doubt preplanned) hysterical screams of oh, my God, oh my God by the mob. This was undoubtably a planned provocation and was handled well by authorities.
