A US service member and a member of the UK armed forces were killed in an improvised explosive device attack in the Manbij area of Syria on Thursday.
A US official with knowledge of the initial reports from the battlefield told CNN the American had been killed.
The UK Ministry of Defence confirmed the British death in a statement saying the soldier was embedded with US forces on a counter ISIS operation when the incident occurred.

What the heck are we still doing in Syria? Our only reason for being there without the approval of its government was to disintegrate ISIS. That was our responsibility, since Obama’s policies caused that nightmare.

What he should say is that getting the US involved in Syria was absurd from the start. Assad is somewhat civilized compared to the Muslim radicals who wish to depose him. Our so-called moderate buddies there are anything but. If Muslims want to kill each other, it’s none of our business.

As far as I can tell, This US soldier that was killed in Manbij was the 3rd US soldier killed in Syria. It is correct that Obama supported by McCain and some others financed by ME oil interests started this. However, Iran and Assad both are supporters of Islamic Terrorists. Have been for many many years. Obama started this for the wrong reasons, he wanted to put in place a Califate headed by Muslim Haters. That is why Obama and Erdogan were bestest buddies. Same stupid move in Libya and they tried in Egypt. The Syrian Kurds and the associated local Arab militias have almost eliminated ISIS. Until Erdogan the Islamist stepped in and removed the focus.
Assad? Any honest look at the history of his family and his past will show he is a cruel brutal dictator. He is an Alawite, but he has partnered with the Iranian Mullahs and Russia. Iran is the only thing that kept him in power. And Iran only did it because they hate Israel. If Iran gets a nuke and a delivery system, they will try to Nuke Israel.
So here we are. The is not about "the democratically elected government of Syria".
