That’s why so many who are avid lefties are also pot smokers, because it doesn’t effect the brain at all. Sure, right, uh huh, no effect on the brain at all.

An excuse for the paranoia I’ve heard is that since using it can/could get you jailed, you tend to fear possible consequences.

I have seen the paranoia in clinical settings with MJ.
Not pretty. MJ is an hallucinogen. Psychoactive drugs like MJ can induce psychosis symptoms including hallucinations, paranoia, time collapse or extension...and so on.
Honestly I don’t care if people use it, but like the impaired constant users of alcohol or other drugs, I do not want to be responsible for caring for them after they ruin their brains.
I have also seen it judiciously used in pain management. With great results.
