I sure hope that my rep, Steve Scalise, doesn’t get the gig. He used to be a good representative for our district, but since he’s became the Whip, he has to go along with the speaker’s agenda and now doesn’t vote necessarily with our wishes. He was one of the turncoats who voted for the Omnibus bill last week, and I know he wouldn’t have done that if he wasn’t part of the leadership.
I kind of like the guy. He’s not nearly the douche McConnel is.
But, he doesn’t want to change his world.

If Ryan resigns then it means he will run against Trump in 2020.
If Ryan resigns now, it means he won’t get blamed if the GOP loses the House in 2018 and he has a year and a half to get his Presidential campaign together.

Respectfully........anyone who wants a Dem majority is a fool. It gives them a leg up on re-apportionment, it means impeachment of Trump and endless frustration of the Trump agenda. Trump says he needs friends in Congress, and Dems are NOT friends.
