I never saw this posted nor anything close to this. Trump’s getting hammered from all sides and I felt that this was recent enough to get on the Breaking News Sidebar so others can see ...”the rest of the story...” so to speak.
Exactly. Whether or not empowering the president with a line item veto is a good idea, such a power is not enumerated in the Constitution. The line item veto has previously and correctly (in my opinion) been determined to be unconstitutional.
How many babies were brutally murdered since the signing of that bill? 5,000? 10,000?

This is more than a budget it is a signal that America is over.
The democrats and the left pursue their agenda zealously and tirelessly while the cowardly republicans are afraid to fight the left in anything.

I never saw this - what Trump had to say about this. It certainly didn’t show up on the sidebar that I could see - and the sidebar is where most of us who have other things to do besides watch FR 24/7 see important ongoing relevant news like this.

The “national security” issue.
Trump needs to confront Russia.
Trump put the military first in this decision.. he knows where the military has been relegated under obama and he promised the military what they need while they serve to protect us all and our country! Step by step, he is doing what he has promised.. WITHOUT the help of congress or the help of the spineless self serving GOP.
Trump took the chance he had for the military.. that is why the left dangled that much in this budget, to get him to sign it.
The next step, Trump will fix what he can, with what he has to work with.. and NO ONE.. NO PRESIDENT... has had so little cooperation from congress that Trump has had to deal with. I’d like to slap and then fire/dismiss all of the gop who work against our President! How self serving they all are.. What could be accomplished with Trump is not being done by the one big friends party in Washington.

Nice post. Wish more were able to see the big picture and sort things out the way you have here. Sometimes it’s two steps forward, one step back. Washington had to retreat all the time before he could eventually win a battle and eventually the Revolutionary War. A lot of FReepers back then would have been calling for Washington’s head after so many retreats.

Well it turns out the Omnibus spending bill appropriating money contains an Omnibus defense appropriation to be used for the wall.
It is confusing, if you do not know certain things that make a big difference in spending. The DEMS were so used to doing that for Obama, I wonder when they will wake up and realize what happened? lol

Trump tried to bluff Congress on the veto and failed. He dug himself into an unnecessary and avoidable hole.
2,200 pages of a bill nobody read was hurriedly signed into law by the president. Where have I heard this before?
