I STILL have no answer to the question I’ve asked every conservative I know:

“What was the Republican leadership in Congress hoping to achieve by putting forth a bill that was more popular with Democrats than Republicans?”

I just don’t understand why they crafted a bill that passed with a couple Democrat votes to spare, rather than a couple Republican votes to spare, unless they are so full of hatred for Trump, they consider losing control of the House a small price to pay.

They were _counting_ on Trump to veto it so they can tell their constituents that mean ol' Trump is withholding their lunch money. Trump might have vetoed it—if McConnell and Ryan would learn to work with Trump rather than play games against him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The loss of the House and possibly the Senate, but that is harder to screw up because there are so many D seats up.
