The Department of Justice has alleged that nine hackers with ties to the Iranian government engaged in a massive cybertheft scheme to steal scientific data and intellectual property from hundreds of U.S. and foreign universities, private companies and government agencies.

Must have included that “stolen” copy of stuxnet that went along for the ride.
IP theft, including stealing software, can have its pitfalls, especially if you don’t know what you’re looking at.

Authorities speaking at a press conference to announce the charges declined to identify any of the universities or companies.”
