Today chairman Bob Goodlatte sends a formal subpoena to the DOJ (Inspector General Michael Horowitz) for documents regarding the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility recommendation to fire former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
However, it’s not the subpoena that should make the news. Pay close attention to the DOJ response.

Doesn’t say there’s a grand jury in place....just that these are the things that are guarded.
I am not encouraged. For all I know, they may make a weak case to th gj and therefore drop the whole thing. In the meantime, they can play the game of “We can’t give out that information as part of an ongoing legal action.”
Especially after this budget, I have no faith in the morality of anyone in government. N
Dumb article. The response does not establish that there is a grand jury. It could be and probably is a completely formulaic response.

This is hype bordering on fake news, with a misleading headline. CTH should know better and have had good articles in the past.
I wonder if Sessions knows or maybe the FBI set up the grand jury to indict him.
I don’t blame people for not being optimistic, considering what the past 18 months have been like, but if it is true, wow, Sessions was BRILLIANT. He got to the point of having DEMOCRATS threatening to impeach Trump if Sessions were to be fired. Now, should he bring down the Deep State, those same Democrats will have a really tough time spinning on a dime and calling him a political hack.

This is an excellent outline of what AG Sessions is doing! I am very encouraged that progress is being made on these matters.

That Grand Jury had damned well be seated someplace far away from Washington, DC. Everyone in that town suckles on the public teat. Not one of them would vote for anything that will hamper the Swamp.

It occurred to me this week that Mueller’s operation was a cover for the real, massive work being done behind the scenes. Mueller was hired to mask the rest of the DOJ work from the press.
Which would explain the 18,500 indictments filed in the November -December time period.
Also would explain the use of Hillary supporting attorneys. It doesn’t matter.
