The NRA really botched things up here in NY when they took the SAFE act to court. There were already a few cases going in NYS courts to toss it on procedural grounds. The NRA jumped the gun and took it to Fed court and the judge they got is notorious for splitting decisions down the center of both party’s argument, which he did. When they did that, they wiped out all of the challenges in State Court, so now the law is pretty much written in stone and we are stuck with it. This Oregon law is almost word for word the NY SAFE act, which a Federal has approved thanks to the NRA.
