Governor Rauner Defeats Conservative Challenger Ives in a Close Illinois Primary
National Review ^ | 3/21/2018 | Alexandra Desanctis

Posted on 03/21/2018 6:57:22 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

The Associated Press has called the Republican gubernatorial primary race for current Illinois governor Bruce Rauner, who defeated his conservative challenger Jeanne Ives in a tight contest tonight. Ives conceded to Rauner around 11:30 p.m., saying, “We fell just a bit short.”

In spite of the close loss, the Ives campaign put together a remarkable effort in the primary, challenging Rauner to a difficult campaign season despite his massive spending advantage. When the race was called, Ives lagged behind the sitting governor by a little over three percentage points.

Meanwhile, Erika Harold defeated Gary Grasso tonight for the GOP attorney-general nomination. Harold, who was crowned Miss America in 2003, will face Democrat Kwame Raoul in November.

Combine had to work overtime to fix it for designated loser Rauner.

The Combine ain’t lost since Fitzgerald’s Senate run in 1998. They got their designated loser with Rauner. Half the Republican voters won’t turn out for this liar and phony in November.

Too many Conservative Republicans have been driven
from Illinois by tax hikes.

With Pro-Life Dan Lipinski winning the Democratic primary, this will be interesting: A Pro-Life Democrat will be running for governor against a Pro-Choice Republican....

We haven’t seen this for a while ( or maybe even never ).

Move the capitol there. Half the federal workers will quit, especially if you move it to Chicago. Turn Virginia red again.

REPUBLICANS TAKE NOTE !

The same thing happened here in Pa Dist 18.

A Trump community (won by 20%) was won by a very conservative sounding Democrat.

THE ALARM NEEDS TO BE RAISED

Democrats are no longer lefty speaking etc.

They are talking and looking like conservatives and a sicophant media is assisting.

Our warfare has intensified.

[Too many Conservative Republicans have been driven

Too many don’t vote in primaries because they are afraid to declare a party. Cowards.

Neither of these candidates has a prayer on Nov. 6, as IL reaffirms its commitment to “the democracy.”

I believe IL had an election earlier with a pro-life Democrat named Glenn Pushard (not sure of the name) losing to a Republican abortion booster.

“Democrats are no longer lefty speaking etc”

Yes, they borrowed that strategy from Republicans.

The good guys lost in Illinois...again. Newt Gingrich was making last minute robo calls on behalf of Rauner. Having said that, up to this point I won’t condemn Rauner. He vetoed the democrats last tax increase only to be overridden only with the help of 15 republicans.(Side note: 10 of those 15 were primaried out yesterday.) He also just vetoed an especially obnoxious Chicago gun store licensing bill. There are several more gun bills pending so we shall see. He has a very tough time dealing with the majority Chicago democrat legislature.

In Ill-Annoy, the biggest problem is the Uni-Party Combine which protects its own power as opposed to protecting the taxpayer. Governor Bruce “Seven Feet of Stupid” Rauner, a make-believe Republican was ZERO for 43 on his “Turn-Around Agenda”. He himself turned-around and signed bills for sanctuary state, abortion on demand through the 9th month, and taxpayer funded abortion. He is a social progressive and a fiscal mental midget. His Liberal/Progressive Democrat wife leads him around by his schwanstucker. JB Pritzker (aka The Candy Man) will indeed be the next Guber.

Yep, afraid that’s what they will have in my home state.

I am appalled at the stupidity of people who vote for these idiots.

Isn't' Lipinski running for Congress, not governor?
