Interesting. Tracked his phone.

I’m in on this conversation. I’ve started a small company that tracks cell phones.

What’s the back-story?

I don’t think that this guy was that clever, or had thought much of anything out.

Well if you intend to commit some crime, ditch the cellphone as it’s like tying a tin can to your leg...

There is some excellent detective work not being disclosed here. They had to run through thousands of hours of footage at all the FedEx stores nearby. How did they know the guy on the video was the suspect? Was he dropping off a package of the right estimated dimensions or weight?

How did they get a bead on this guy’s cell phone to triangulate it? They had to have ID’d the guy to know which cell phone to track. How did they ID the suspect? Was stingray used?

These are tantalizing bits of info being revealed, but I’m guessing only a few percent of the entire story is being released. The real techniques used are being kept quiet for obvious reasons.

Hell - these days a lot of cars can probably be tracked almost as easily as cell phones....

Reminds me of the scene in the movie "Heat" where the bad guys got wind of the police surveillance on them, and took some really interesting measures to ditch it.

They removed the tracking device from one of their cars and put it on a city bus. LOL.

Austin-based left-wing terrorism group named “Red Guards Austin” just declared “everywhere a battlefield” … and they can’t wait to murder conservatives
