Teacher who called military 'lowest of the low' is fired

A Southern California teacher who was recorded bashing the U.S. military in a profane classroom rant was fired Tuesday evening.

Board of Education President Aurora Villon said the El Rancho Unified School District reached a unanimous decision to fire Gregory Salcido, a history teacher at El Rancho High School and elected Pico Rivera city councilman, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“His comments do not reflect what we stand for, who we are,” Villon said, adding that “the classroom should never be a place where students feel that they are picked at, bullied, intimidated."

alcido faced a severe backlash after a student secretly recorded him asking his government class why they would want to serve in the military, calling those who serve “dumbs‑‑‑s.”

“Think about the people who you know who are over there. Your freaking stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They’re dumbs‑‑‑s,” Salcido can be heard saying in the Jan. 25 tirade.

“They’re not like high-level thinkers, they’re not academic people, they’re not intellectual people. They’re the lowest of our low.”

Bring up the Mayor’s office scene in Ghostbusters! Something rational happened in Kalifornja on the heels of another city resolving not to follow the Sanctuary State rulings of moonbeam Brown.

The people by a large margin do not approve of the illegals and the sanctuary crap. Berkley did a poll on it and about 75% disapproved of it. A Bezerkley commissioned poll!

For completely personal reasons I have talked to numerous low echelon military people in the last decade. I can't recall one of them who sounded illiterate, although some may exist. There may be a higher percentage of illiterate teachers in this country.

Guess he fell for the John Kerry line: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq." Teachers are the least-educated people I know among those with higher education; playing Trivial Pursuit with them years ago was eye-opening to say the least.

Unless during the Obunghole years things have changed, it is impossible to get into the military being illiterate. You MUST take and pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) exam.
