His family thought he just had a bad cold, nothing serious.

But Victor Martínez kept getting worse. By mid-January, he lay in a hospital ward, wasting away from tuberculosis. A month later, at his wake, stunned relatives tried to reckon with the resurgence of a disease that many Venezuelans thought had been mostly confined to the history books.

“I really don’t know what to think,” said Nileydys Yesenia Aurelia Martínez, his niece. “Even the last thing you’d imagine is happening.”

Tuberculosis, a disease that until recently seemed to be under control in Venezuela, is making an aggressive comeback, overwhelming a broken health care system ill equipped for its return, doctors and infectious disease specialists say.

Socialism sometimes delivers free health care. But the downside is: you get what you paid for.

Right. At least these people are being treated for Tuberculosis for “free.” They don’t have to worry about the “rich” being able to afford treatment while the poor get lesser treatment. Everyone is subjected to the same sh___ty treatment.

I used to like going to Venezuela, not now. They’ve destroyed the country.

But wait! I thought Fidel sent his good buddy the Mambo Chimp a bunch of doctors from Cuba which as we all know has a wonderful free healthcare system thanks to socialism. How can it be that they can’t deal with basic health issues? Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world and a year round growing season so it can’t be a lack of money. Surely nothing could screw all that up.

Once all the Venezuelan marxists are dead from starvation, disease and violence maybe the white South African farmers can move there and MVGA .

America has a growing TB problem.
I used to volunteer at the Tarrant County Jail. Had to get the skin tests every six months. I noticed the deputies were beginning to test positive, so I quit.
This is one of the many “blessings” of unchecked illegal immigration.
