So, is the redistricting now going to be solely a function of the judiciary in that and other states now?

No, each state chooses, by law, its own method of redistricting but anyone can challenge a redistricting plan in court. Nearly all redistricting plans are challenged in courts though because somebody is always uphappy.
Some states have multi-partisan, independent commissions that draw up district boundaries (ie 5 registered Republicans, 5 registered Democrats and 5 registered independents).
