Nope, unless they changed the law. British law says if you are standing 9 inches (I believe) or more off the ground, you can’t be prosecuted for banned speech. Therefore people stand on soapboxes (whatever) and talk about their grievances at Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park every Sunday. It’s pretty cool! When I was there a London Councilman was talking about how he was being persecuted by some mayor who was having an affair with his wife! Real soap opera stuff!

The spot is called Speakers Corner, because it is one of the few places that British citizens can speak their minds. It’s like the free speech zones on college campuses.

From Wikipedia: “Speakers here may talk on any subject, as long as the police consider their speeches lawful, although this right is not restricted to Speakers’ Corner only. So how long before the Mayor of London complains about the content of the speech, and how it offends Islam?
