I would say leave it up to those who know what they're doing, be it State Department or other. I have a hard time believing that Ivanka Trump is the best the administration has to offer in the diplomacy area. Unless, of course, the intent is to insult South Korea. Then it might work.

I’ll say I’m not a big Ivanka fan. That said, if the choice is down to striped-pants boys in Foggy Bottom, or same supplemented by Ivanka, I’ll take the latter given the track record of our career foreign service types.
