McCabe just made life tough for Comey and the special counsel
The Hill ^ | Jonathan Turley

Posted on 03/17/2018 10:05:22 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Following his termination late Friday night, former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe declared that he was “singled out” after “unrelenting” attacks by President Trump and critics. McCabe’s objections are less than credible, given the virtually unprecedented recommendation of career officials to fire the one-time acting FBI director.

However, McCabe may have rectified his “singled out” status with his long statement criticizing his termination: In the middle of it is a line that could be viewed as incriminating fired FBI director James Comey, not just in leaking sensitive information but also in lying to Congress.

McCabe is accused of misleading investigators about allegedly giving information to a former Wall Street Journal reporter about the investigation of Hillary Clinton and the Clinton family’s charitable foundation. McCabe asserts in his post-firing statement that he not only had authority to “share” that information to the media but did so with the knowledge of “the director.” The FBI director at the time was Comey.

“I chose to share with a reporter through my public affairs officer and a legal counselor,” McCabe stated. “As deputy director, I was one of only a few people who had the authority to do that. It was not a secret, it took place over several days, and others, including the director, were aware of the interaction with the reporter.”

If the “interaction” means leaking the information, then McCabe’s statement would seem to directly contradict statements Comey made in a May 2017 congressional hearing. Asked if he had “ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation” or whether he had “ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation,” Comey replied “never” and “no.”

Uni party has been controlling elections for years- they have a republican followed by a democrat- just from the two parties.

Last time there was serious outside contention was Ross Perot- and I am not sure was really a 3rd party trying to win. More like sucking votes off the repubics.

This time Uni party got caught as they did not believe PDJT has a snowballs chance.

They used own polling data which was heavily skewed and did not understand the electorate being PO’D.

I will guarantee mistakes made in 2016 will not be repeated- they are pulling all the stops for the midterms, cheating at polling places, counting votes.

Running false ads.

Andrew McCabe has not denied the accusations. Behaving like a cornered animal, lashing out at the Prez and others.

I finally understand why the FBI hires such venal men as Hoover and Comey and McCabe ... their predilection for public antics takes the eyes of the people off the true puppetmasters ....

I loved the comment on the cufflinks...that was my initial thought on reading it as well.

They are all doubling down...because they don’t have any other choice now. Everything was predicated on Trump not winning.

There's a subpoena waiting to happen...
“Once I decided to run,” Jill McCabe said, according to WSJ, “my husband had no formal role in my campaign other than to be a supportive husband to me and our children. As a federal official…everyone who participated in our campaign understood and respected that he could not participate.”

“Not one single word of remorse or even that he did anything even a little wrong.”

It’s a mental illness. Malignant narcissism or something. It’s scary how they’ve managed to populate the top positions of our Intelligence Agencies. The illness plus absolute power is a recipe for disaster.

“I read that he will lose 1.8 million dollars worth of pension.”

I think it was Napolitano who said he’ll still get most of his pension, but it’ll be later than he’d planned. I hope nobody feels too sorry for him.

“Alan Dershowitz kept saying to Laura Ingraham...’How could he/they be so stupid putting everything in writing’....ie emails, texts, etc’”

Good Rat that he, is he’d didn’t criticize their criminal acts, only their stupidity in getting caught.

The author of “eff Flynn and then we eff Trump” wants sympathy? Especially after he actually did eff a decent and honorable military officer. Flynn lost a fortune in legal fees. McCabe has to wait for his tax-payer funded pension a few years. Should have remembered his oath to the constitution.

Comey came from some years in the private sector to become FBI Director. No doubt he’s worth millions. He’s older than McCabe and also likely has his 20 years in the DOJ, which would not be in jeopardy short of specific felony conviction.

There isn’t any indication Comey will be criminally charged, although he certainly should be.

McCabe said if he didn’t get his pension he was going to bring down the FBI. Let the bringing down commence!

it is SOOoooo interesting that we have not heard from several people during all this. For example - no word from Obama? no word from Hillary? no word from Biden?
Maybe they are “smart” enough to shut-up? Or ......????
Hard to believe Obama has shut his big ugly mouth this long. Remember how he intoned, “Let me be clear”? and “...that would be crossing a red line.”?

BHO is such a cl@ss-less @$$-h0le IMO

IMHO once McCabe is indicted, he will turn states evidence to get his pension back, and get a minimal sentence on a guilty plea. He will sing like a canary.

IMHO McCabe’s life is in danger.
