Agree with you 100%. It is definitely “risky business” getting involved when one doesn’t know all the precise details of a situation.
For all we know, a “scruffy-looking dirtbag” is an undercover goodguy intervening with a corrupt uniformed cop. Life isn’t always as it seems!
