I think if the "social media" companies were smart (and I'm not suggesting they are ..... ) they'd simply discontinue their availability in the EU completely and let the real social unrest erupt on the elected and unelected bureaucrats. A Great Wall of Europe in cyberspace! It would suit them, genetic fascists that they are!
Maybe they could buy the technology from the ChiComs.
