Not good at all. All these loses in a areas Trump win big show for some reason Americsns opposes Trumps agenda. Why else would they be voting for the party of Satan?
This time next year Speaker Pelosi will be holding impeachment hearings for Trump.
The GOP want to impeach Trump, too. They’re just waiting for a fig leaf from Mueller. The dems don’t need the fig leaf. They’d impeach Trump because of his hair.
They didn’t. This was a massive voter fraud that is achievable in one-off elections because they can focus all their fraudulent tools on one race. In a national election it is much tougher to pull off.
You’ve been pushing that “Losing 2018” thing all day. It’s gonna be ok chicken little.
Wow, you really do seem to be a Negative Nellie!
Ever since the Moore debacle it has been bad. Like the RNC is idling doing nothing
Dunno if that's an obvious conclusion. IMO 2016 was NO HILLARY and this is not.
Sod off, swampy.
I read somewhere, might have been on LS’ Twitter feed, that this is a district with a 50,000+ Dem voter advantage? Can anyone confirm that? So if you’ve got a Dem who sounds like a moderate, and is a good campaigner, vs. a lackluster GOPe candidate, the outcome could definitely be close in an off year special election.
I also suspect the news of the Tillerson firing got out at just the wrong time, and the release of that news was not handled well. Maybe that could swing 1% of the vote?
That said, Lamb closed a lot of ground in a couple months, and there is little to suggest that the public’s view of Trump has changed markedly for the worse in that period. If anything, it is better. So, more likely some other factor recently came into play — we need someone “on scene” to best explain, I think. Did the Dems spend 4x or 10x as much as the Pubs?
Shallow thinking and the influence of unions.
No big deal! Christie got Elected Governor in NJ but NJ never goes RED in Presidential Elections + Saccone is NO Donald TRUMP!
Voters don't feel anything for that guy + his opponent was basically running as a Conservative
Trump beat (bigly) 17 real, actually existing Republicans.
Whatever you say about "party of Satan", "Demonrats" and all that other crap, there are wide (and growing) areas of the country where the name "Republican" is a dirty word, based on recent and extensive voter experience with the species.
Why, just today, the guy who could not hold his House seat in NH-1 against a Democrat in 2018 (a district Trump won) was appointed to a cushy swamp job on K Street after barely escaping conviction for misappropriating campaign funds.
People here, who voted for Donald Trump, are NOT going to vote for the Saccones of the world, or the Frank Giuntas either, just because they have the (R) label.
Trump has made a huge gamble that he can negotiate the output of the local and state GOP nominating processes onto the Trump train, but he may have made an error.
Most voters hate those who we call the GOPe worse than they hate Conor Lamb-type candidates. If Saccone and Frank Giunta, and Roy Moore, are the best Republican voters can nominate, them the GOP is going down hard, and will wind up taking down the best President we've had since 1924.
It's a shame.
For God's sake, those of you who still are GOP, NOMINATE TRUMPERS OR LOSE. It's that simple.
Only way dems can win the House is elect people like lamb in swing districts. They would have to run on Trumps agenda and dems would commit suicide in 2020 if they try to impeach Trump.
Bullsh!t.
All this shows is that PA Democrats won't vote (enough) for GOPe candidates who don't strongly embrace Trump's agenda. This Democrat guy was a Marine and he talked a good game.
An enthusiastic Deplorable Republican would have had a much better chance against Lamb. This guy Saccone wasn't enthusiastic for Trump as far as I could see, and he still came damn close in PA, which remains a heavily Democratic state. This figured to be an uphill battle for a squish.
GOP candidates who embrace Trump energetically and run on his agenda in November will do well. "Business as usual" GOP squishes will get crushed in Democratic states like PA. The Dems running in red states are going to get smashed in November, especially in the Senate races—although Rick Scott in FL may have destroyed his chances with his gun control capitulation.
You never miss a chance to revert to your #NeverTrump roots, A27...
