It baffles me, we just had a much needed tax cut to spark the economy and give people relief, and now all sorts of idiots are looking for “reasoned” tax increases.

The extra revenue would also come from a proposed millionaires tax Want to see them get bumpkis when the millionaires leave the state.
Stupid, stupid socialists.

including a small spike in New Jersey's sales tax Don't worry, you're only getting stabbed with a small knife, not a big one.

My first guess is that they will hemorrhage more money from taxpayers staying away from the state for 183 days of the year (and becoming non-New Jersey residents) than they collect from all the tax increases.
My second guess is the state goes into bankruptcy within the next 4 years.

The last Democrat governor did the same thing.
The dumb b@stards in this state are the last ones to figure out that a sales tax is one of the most regressive taxes out there.

Looks to me like this is the final wake up call to all those who, for whatever reason, didn’t leave the state.

Golly - the reduction of the sales tax by .15th of a percent was the big tradeoff for raising the gasoline tax last year - that break didn’t last long......
To: GuavaCheesePuff
small spike in New Jersey's sales tax, It just came down to 6.625% Jan 1. This was part of the deal with the rise in the gas tax. Do you think that will come down with the rise in sales tax? Of course not
