When President Donald Trump will visit the border wall prototypes Tuesday in San Diego County, he may have a favorite design in mind, but getting the votes in Congress to secure financing still remains a hurdle.
Then again, one California farm leader in the state's Central Valley the biggest agricultural region where growers and ranchers have relied on immigrant labor for decades has come up with what he thinks is a border wall funding solution. And it doesn't involve using American taxpayers' money or funds from Mexico's government.
(Big long snip)
According to Cunha, raising money for the border wall would involve the following: First, the U.S. would allow roughly 8 million undocumented immigrants to have a path to citizenship by paying $1,000 apiece for three-year work authorization cards similar to those issued to DACA recipients. "So the president would have $8 billion earned in round one for the wall," Cunha said. Second, the 8 million immigrants in the third year could renew their status for a 10-year card for another $1,000, bringing in about another $8 billion in total fees. Cunha said the second fee round, however, could be increased to make it $1,500, or generating some $12 billion ...

The wall will pay for itself many times over because it will prevent cockroaches from getting our welfare or use our services.
Right, call it a “Stay out of Mexico” card. One arrest for anything bigger than jaywalking and on the deportation bus they go...
Pardon my ignorance, but who controls where money made from the freshly imposed tariffs goes?
You have to earn your citizenship ,its not a gift to illegals. Go pick your own grapes.
A little entity known as congress...
8 million of them? There’s even more? A family of 4 comes up with $4k? Make their employers come up with the cash.
First off, $1000 is far too cheap. To start with 10% of income per year with Weekly monitoring and drug checks for 20 years. Then you are first in line.
guess we could make that tax deductible.
No!
Were not legalizing them for a thousand bucks.
Theyre costing us far more than that each year they are here.
Send them home.
Allow them to work here seasonally with the farmers.
Families stay home in Mexico.
i think i’d rather charge them $3K for a one year work permit, then build the wall, then deport them all.. .Subsequent work permits could include over-witholding taxes which could be returned when they exit.
Better yet use these.
Why not just impose a 95% tax on all international wire transfers or money orders. Then they can make their own decision to stayand pay or just up and leave.
Fine. But put the 8 million (more like 50 million) illegals on the Mexican side of the wall after it’s built.
I'll vote for that, but I'd make it an annual renewal, and be subject to revocation upon any criminal conviction.
When I joined the pipefitters union, UA, it cost me 100 hours of journeyman wages, which at the time was $28/hour.
Okay. That helps solve the Southern Border illegals. I guess
some form of this process could be applied to those coming in
from The Far East - Asia regions. These now equal or surpass
the Southern Border illegals or so it is said.
It goes into the general fund. Then Lucy pulls the football away.
I think we’ve all known for a long time that the media’s 12 mil illegals was a bogus number. i’m not sure about your 50 mil tho. Has anyone seen a credible estimate (not saying 50 isn’t,love to see source data) of that number within the past two years or so?
I would add a $10 fee to everyone crossing the Mexican boarder. Apparently 42 million crossings.

That’s just it....no one knows how many illegals there are in the U.S.
I’ve heard 30 million, 40 million, and more. That “11 million” number has been tossed around since the 1990’s....yet everyday, more illegals come here. And more “student” visas expire every day, which is another source of illegal aliens.
I live in Maine, and they are here, too. Not the same numbers of illegals as California or Arizona, but Maine is about as far as you can get from the Mexican border without being in Alaska or Hawaii.
Then there are those “services” for pregnant woman in China who come to Hawaii, California or other U.S. locals to give birth to their babies. Instant American citizenship for the anchor baby. The owners of these businesses charge $45,000 and more for their “services.”
I’ve heard of a similar business bringing Russian women to Florida to give birth.
Illegal immigration and birthright citizenship must end.
