If she was a social services worker, I’m guessing that she has found herself in some fairly interesting neighborhoods while on the job.
My oldest found herself in “interesting” neighborhoods in New Orleans while doing some work along those lines but was prohibited from protecting herself. She doesn’t do that any more.
I was a case worker for MediCal in California. The only house calls we made were if the client was ill and couldn’t come in. I hated them. Most were in horrible neighborhoods and I’m a shiny white blonde gal so stuck out like a sore thumb. Since we were giving them money no one ever bothered me and most of the times I’d get waved at as I drove through in my county car. Social workers spend most of their time in those neighborhoods and they’re not popular. Ugh!
