There has been a great deal of consternation, directed toward AG Jeff Sessions surrounding the ongoing FISA abuse scandal and the larger issues of unlawful DOJ and FBI conduct in their political investigation of candidate Donald Trump. It is a matter of great division amid people who follow the details.
That said, AG Jeff Sessions revealed tonight in an interview with Shannon Bream, that he previously appointed a DOJ official to investigate the issues delivered by Chairman Bob Goodlatte (House Judiciary), prior to receiving the request for a Special Counsel from Chairman Goodlatte and Trey Gowdy. I am not one of those Anti-Jeff Sessions Freepers, but he worries me, as I do think from the political side, something should be/have already been done.
Politics continue, even if legal matters of justice take years and years to work through.
I lived through the steady drip, drip, drip of anti-Nixon Watergate politics, and the media/dems used that to get elected to all kinds of offices they could, THROUGHT THE MID TO LATE 70S. Nixon WON 49 STATES IN 1972! His election fundamentally changed the dynamics, and the dems had to re-act to get back in the drivers seat. Hence the molehill to a mountain of Watergate, aided and abetted by the driveby media. We’re in a similar situation today.
They succeeded in crucifying Richard Nixon, and then got their “outsider”, Jimmy Carter, elected. HIS administration, IMHO, gave us Iran, the Mulllahs, and a resurgence of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism, and way too many died for that.
The fight against these bastards continues, and is generational. Long after Trump is gone, we’ll still be fighting the Left and their Fake News!
Yeah, who put Rosenstein in the DAG position? The DAG a position appointed by the president and approved by the Senate.

There was guest on the Laura Ingraham show last week who said with a certainty that Reince Priebus is responsible for Trump's appointment of Rosenstein.
Trump did not have a long list of political associates, so he had to rely on others for many recommendations and the amount of turnover so far pretty clearly indicates that he did not receive great advice for many slots.
No offense taken given you are a Magoo sycophant, complete with cheerleader pom-poms for an as yet unknown DOJ SC appointee. Rah, rah, right?

3 months ago: Jim Jordan pushes Sessions in hearing to appoint special counsel. Jordan refers to his letter 3 months earlier, demanding same thing. Sessions does his stubborn dumb mule imitation. Finally refers to Wray (FBI) investigating, while resisting special counsel call.

I think there are people on this site (trolls) that post very negative and discouraging comments. Could they be NeverTrumpers? or not-as-bad Dims? I get tired of their neg comments esp since they are not realistic at all.

I will make public that over four months ago Sessions was interviewing for a second special prosecutor. Maybe he just changed the title.
Name one conviction.....Im a realist, not a “debbie downer” when it comes to the government. As for Trump, I have high expectations, as he has done more good in 12 months than all the Presidents after Reagan has. You go ahead and keep waiting for a conviction from our Just Us system.
Just because he is just now telling us, that, to you, means he just now is doing it? You must not know anything about how investigations work.
I'm sure Trump picked Sessions. He'd worked with Sessions closely for more than a year of the campaign and Rudy, who many wanted, took himself out of consideration for AG.
But with the right DAG, there would never have been a SC. Rosenstein simply couldn't take but a few days of pressure from Schumcky and other Dims and he soon caved and gave them Mueller.
Thats the first comment from the “regulars” at CTH....”trolls” when someone disagrees with their group hug thinking about Sessions. Just because someone doesn’t play follow the sheep in front with your nose in his butt, does not make them a Troll.

Whether Reince recommended Rosenstein or not, Sessions was on board with the decision. It was Sessions’ call.
Everything that happened after Sessions’ recusal in the face of ‘russian collusion’ hoax was orchestrated with the deep-state. None of that happened by accident.
IOW, Sessions is a compromised rat bastard.

I campaigned for him too and have fond memories. Jesse Helms ran at same time and I campaigned for three: Helms, Reagan and our first GOP gov since CW, Holshouser.
