Recycled sewer water is actually some of the purest water on the planet.

I heard it was full of dihydrogen monoxide, a chemical. I don't put chemicals into my body, because they're dangerous ... that's why they're called chemicals, a synonym for poison.

Feces I can handle, but I draw the line at poop.

That’s pretty smart of them. If I ever built a new house I’d consider adding a gray water tank where laundry and maybe shower water could be diverted. The tank would be connected to a pressure pump and could be used for washing cars and watering the lawn.

I’ve got no problem with this. As an occasional backpacker, I’ve filtered plenty of water with no ill effects. If I can be confident with a $25 Sawyer Mini filter, I’m sure a municipal wastewater treatment plant will do far better.

Plus, that pesky 4th grade science class about the water cycle comes in to play. Water is a zero sum game. It gets treated, ingested, expelled, returned, treated, ingested...

Why not. CA has sewer people in the legistlature, a sewer governor, sewer actors, sewer senators, and, of course, the country’s greatest sh*thole in San Francisco.

I had an old farmhouse where the sink drains went to the large garden as gray water. Only the toilet went to the septic tank. Illegal of course.

I live very close to the Mississippi. We’ve joked for years that the bacteria purify the liquids and the catfish recycle the solids.

Here in NJ we have reservoirs in the mountains; our sewage plants don’t discharge there.

I don’t understand how Arabs can desalinate seawater and California can’t.

I read in the Osage Beach newspaper that the treated water put back in the lake contains a high volume of whatever drugs are being peed out. Supposedly it makes the fish mean?

California uses treated water for irrigation and that is questionable. I don't think radiation and pharmaceuticals can be filtered out.
