Sessions unloads on California Dems for ‘radical, open borders agenda’
Fox News ^ | 3-7-2018 | Adam Shaw

Sessions spoke at an event for California law enforcement and a day after the Justice Department announced it was filing a lawsuit against the “sanctuary city” state over three pieces of legislation that it said interferes with federal immigration policy.

~~~~~~~~~
Sessions said that while America admits the highest number of legal immigrants in the world, the American people deserve a legal, rational immigration system that protects the nation and preserves the national interest. “It cannot be the policy of a great nation to reward those who unlawfully enter its country with legal status, Social Security, welfare, food stamps, and work permits and so forth. How can this be a sound policy?” he asked.
“Meanwhile, those who engage in this process lawfully and patiently and wait their turn are discriminated against, it seems, at every turn.” Turning to California, he described "open borders" policies that refuse to apprehend and deport illegal immigrants as a “radical, irrational idea that cannot be accepted” and rejected the right of states to obstruct federal immigration law.
“There is no nullification. There is no secession,” he said. “Federal law is the supreme law of the land. I would invite any doubters to go to Gettysburg, or to the tombstones of John C. Calhoun and Abraham Lincoln."
He then tore into Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, who tipped off the public to an immigration raid in the San Francisco Bay Area last week -- a move he said led to as many 800 illegal immigrants evading capture and put both residents and law enforcement at risk.
“How dare you!” he said, addressing Schaaf. “How dare you needlessly endanger the lives of our law enforcement officers to promote a radical, open borders agenda.”
It was a great speech.
I would prefer he made a few arrests, in addition to the lawsuit he filed, but the speech was fantastic. Naturally, it will be hidden from the MSM’s reporting, except for perhaps a few quotes they can take out of context.
The last time a State refused a lawful Federal order, Washington DC ordered troops in to enforce the law.
It is time Kalifornia faces the same consequences.
I’d love to see these sanctuary city mayors and governor go to prison for life
They can get the death penalty or life in prison. Look at (B)(iv).
https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCODE-2001-title8/html/USCODE-2001-title8-chap12.htm
§1324. Bringing in and harboring certain aliens
(a) Criminal penalties
(1)(A) Any person who—
(iii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation;
shall be punished as provided in subparagraph (B).
(B) A person who violates subparagraph (A) shall, for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs—
(i) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i) or (v)(I) or in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(ii), (iii), or (iv) in which the offense was done for the purpose of commercial advantage or private financial gain, be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both;
(ii) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(ii), (iii), (iv), or (v)(II), be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both;
(iii) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) during and in relation to which the person causes serious bodily injury (as defined in section 1365 of title 18) to, or places in jeopardy the life of, any person, be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both; and
(iv) in the case of a violation of subparagraph (A)(i), (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) resulting in the death of any person, be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined under title 18, or both.
How do you reconcile this statement with today’s action? If he were working hard to destroy America, wouldn’t he simply have ignored what California is doing, rather than filing lawsuits????
Sessions is the real deal. Meanwhile, at FR we have real whiners....
Sessions is doing his job. The line about Gettysburg, and going to Sacramento to say so tells us everything we need to know.
Swamp on notice.
If you impede a federal officer in the performance of their duty, would you be immediately arrested?
You or I would be arrested, but, apparently, not elected officials in a high profile case such as this.
It was a fine speech, but I do not want to hear speeches from Magoo, I require clear and convincing action/results/arrests and JUSTICE TAKEN TO THOSE INVOLVED DURING THE 8 LONG YEARS OF THE OBAMA CRIME SYNDICATE.
Exactly!
Two tier justice, Sessions should be arrested he is scum.
Sessions is obstructing justice by giving his political buddies free passes.
Scum like Sessions is why we have the swamp, no one ever needs to worry if caught.
