This threat was not emergent. The guy (who I'll agree sounds a bit looney-tunes) had been doing this for awhile. While I agree that he shouldn't have the gun, I think that the talking heads should have just shut up about the back story. Misuse of a well-intended law. Some people just have to brag!

If the guy’s been doing this ‘for awhile’ what gives cause to disarm the man, let alone ‘shouldn’t have the gun’??
‘Odd’ behavior? Methinks if he was going to go off the deep-end he’d have had ample opportunity already.

I recall a Seattle Fire Captain was walking out of Safeco Field with his wife and son after a Mariners game. Somehomeless bum walked up behind him and shot him in the head. My point is there are crazy people on the streets of Seattle with firearms. Maybe this guy was one of those or was he just ready for one of those...
