Are we missing somethings. It’s Americans killing Russians. OK it’s in Syria. Slippery lope to WW3. Even Obama wouldn’t go there. Payback for Russian meddling? Waiting for Buchannan’s response. Strangely silent.
Russian mercs call their guns “assault rifles?” Really? Are we sure they aren’t recruiting American progressives?
They weren’t Russian troops, they were Russians hired as mercenaries. A subtle, but important distinction. (I hope)
Apparently we gave Moscow weeks of warnings when we saw the buildup. They claimed it was not them. I bet the Kremlin Planners are getting a similar beat down by Putin...
Certain. Who would hire progressives for anything important?
I’m guessing the translation was done by a “progressive”, the use of the term assault rifle coupled with the frequent use of the f-bomb are earmarks...
Ah!
Still this is the second story I have read here where Russians are blaming the Americans for relatives' deaths in their media. It could devolve into direct confrontation between US and Russians in Syria.
It could also be like Korea and Viet Nam where we knew Russians were killing Americans and did nothing for fear of "escalation".
This is like Russian Blackwater guys derping around against a real military.
BTW- Mattis loves artillary... it’s very demoralizing.
Exactly my thoughts too.
These kooky lefty writers reveal their orientation by the words they choose to use.
And then topped off with strafing runs by Apache’s.
The kicker seems to be that they knew what they were walking into. They also seem to have gotten it into their heads that the U.S. troops and their allies would run for it.
I think we made our stance crystal clear...
Yep, and just enough of the combatants survived to spread the word.
Russkies were pushed into a killing ground by their commanders. Hopefully these commanders got theirs as well.
These Russians are just a little behind the times. Had they tried this two years ago, the Americans would have been the ones running for their lives, their futile calls for support and extraction unanswered.
There's a new POTUS now, and if you annoy him he's not going to send you apologies and pallets of cash.
Nothing more cost effective than hiring a merc who doesn't come back for his pay.
There’s a video on a Ukrainian channel on Youtube that has a very lengthy radio interview with Russians about it. 80-90% of Russian materiel destroyed, 70-80% of two battalions dead.
It’s quite fascinating, and 1) no lefties know that this has happened 2) Putin can neither affirm (and reveal that he’s operating mercs illegally) or deny (as there are over 150 dead ) that this occurred and 3) people see the strength in US and weakness in Russian forces as the US shut down all radio comms on the Russian side while blowing the hell out of them with focused artillery and air power.
Putin won’t mess with us for a while.
Can you post the URL?
"Just had a call with a guy so they basically formed a convoy, but did not get to their f positions by some 300 meters. One unit moved forward, the convoy remained in place, about 300 meters from the others. The others raised the American f flag, and their artillery started f ours really hard. Then their f choppers flew in and started f everybody. Ours just running around. Just got a call from a pal, so there are about 215 f killed. They simply rolled ours out f hard. Made their point. What the f ours were hoping for in there?! That they will f run away themselves? Hoped to f scare them away? Lots of people f so bad [they] cant be f IDd. There was no foot soldiers [on the American side]; they simply f our convoy with artillery."
They don't call artillery the king of the battlefield for nothing...
Ah yes, reading this makes me want to break out the old “Peace through superior firepower” t-shirt.”
