Jeff Sessions -- Ninja or Nincompoop?
americanthinker.com ^ | Brian Joondeph

*snip*

Other members of Congress, such as Trump supporters Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows have called on Sessions to resign, saying that, “By recusing himself from the FBI’s investigation into Russia’s alleged interference in the United States election, Sessions has lost control, allowing for a leaky and unnecessarily overdrawn, partisan investigation.”

All painting the picture of an inept Mr. Magoo as Attorney General, letting the lunatics run the asylum, doing a grave disservice to his president and the country.

*snip*

Now the opposite scenario, that AG Sessions is indeed a ninja, working behind the scenes to drain the swamp, but doing it, out of necessity, quietly yet methodically.

What is Sessions’résumé? 12 years as a U.S. Attorney, two years as Alabama AG, three terms as a conservative U.S. senator, one of the earliest supporters of candidate Trump. Nearly 30 years navigating the swamp through a solid conservative lens. To say that he doesn’t understand current events or the significance of his role in all of this is hard to fathom.

Trump is no fool. And he doesn’t suffer fools either. Watch speeches or interviews from decades ago and Trump’s core beliefs have changed little. He has spoken constantly of the swamp, fighting the establishment of the media, Democrats, and even his own party. Why would Trump tolerate an inept AG, rather than uttering his famous, “You’re fired!”

Jeff Sessions offered to resign in September of last year, and before that in June. If Trump was so displeased, he could have accepted Sessions’ resignation. But he didn’t. What if this is all a grand charade? A deception to keep his enemies off guard?

I haven’t completely decided yet but leaning toward Ninja.

The wheels of justice grind exceedingly slow.

It’s some kind of theatrical performance - we’re just not sure if Trump or Sessions is the one giving it. :)

He’s petrified. He doesn’t want to be the one that prosecutes a former administration or the losing candidate of the election.

He said this before his recusal [paraphrased] and he knew he was going to recuse himself before he accepted the position of Attorney General

Sessions as ninja is an appealing idea, but there is nothing close to actual evidence that he is. That’s why the bizarre belief that Swamp-draining will be done by the military; no one believes the DOJ is pursuing such a course.

He treasures civility and regards the duty of a proper conservative to lose very, very politely.

I absolutely loved him as a senator but now..?

he should resign.

it breaks my hear, but yeah.

Based on what I’ve seen regarding actual politicians outside of a Tom Clancy novel, my money is on nincompoop.

IIRC Sessions never offered to resign. He said POTUS must fire him to get rid of him. In this climate, firing Sessions would only increase the left’s insanity. Trump must wait at least until after mid-terms, in hopes he picks up larger majorities in both houses.

I say ninja or Stealth Elf Jeff.

You do good either way, if it's a game to distance himself from Trump and make the deep-staters think he is innefectual, it's brilliant. And thus any fun you poke at him helps the scheme.

If he really is a dud then poking fun is wholly justified.

Yeah.

We get conditioned by novels and movies that these guys are super smart and have it all under control, even when it looks like they blew it. Heck, my wife and I are watching Suits on Amazon prime these days. It has exactly that formula. That’s why it’s fun.

But in the real world they’re not anywhere near that smart. In the real world, odds are that James Bond dies in his second or third fight or shoot out - if no this first one.

We live in the real world.

Not only is Sessions a complete dud, we also lost a very safe Republican seat in Alabama. Two strikes.

The level of corruption and the number of guilty players is astounding.Basically, they have a get out of jail card, because Sessions is afraid where it would lead.

And the Swamp is deeper than anyone imagined. Mueller has nothing and knows it. He is going to stay on, pretending to be a truth seeker. Congress and more importantly the IG has done wonderful work. When the IG report comes out with what they found, Sessions will be able to use that info to slam people. His recusal from the Russia investigation is a big nothingburger......but also eliminates criticism from anyone about being impartial in the fact finding.

It is hard to imagine the FBI was actively involved in screwing with the FISA court process and creating a false narrative to impact the election and potentially use agains an appropriately elected president ( even if it appeared to be a longshot at the time ).

I don’t know if Sessions is smart, lucky or blessed.....probably a bit of all three.

leaning toward Ninja....

Yeah. There's a reason that the globalist 'pubs who are bought and paid for by their paymasters don't want him there. Those globalists don't support a nationalistic, pro-Constitutional direction.
