...Kroger’s grocery store? Really? Geeze, I knew our Kroger didn’t have the great perks of larger demographics. But I really never saw one selling guns before...

Kroger owns the Fred Meyer chain which is only in the Pacific Northwest. Fred Meyer is like a smaller size Walmart Super Center with furniture, hardware, clothes, etc. as well as groceries. It is upscale from Walmart, with better brands. Our local Fred Meyer started carrying guns and ammo a few years ago, which I liked at the time.

Still not sure if I am willing to boycott Freddy's over this since I like the idea of more stores carrying guns & ammo. Even though their prices are too high IMHO. The practice of general merchandise stores carrying weapons normalizes their ownership. This is something I want to encourage.

This is a tougher issue than a lot of people on our side think. I am a big 2A supporter, and have taught my kids, grandkids and some friend's kids to shoot. They all loved it. OTOH, I have never personally known anyone anyone under 21 who I would trust alone with an AR-15. With adult supervision, sure, but not alone.

And the argument about trusting 18 year olds in the military with full auto assault rifles is fallacious. They get a lot of training (hundreds of hours) and a lot of adult supervision, complete with some formal, and much informal, psych evaluation during that training, before they ever get issued the rifle.

And, if I ever find anyone over 18 and under 21 who I think is responsible enough to trust alone with an AR-15, I can legally gift one to her.

The big deal is that I don't trust any additional infringement, however slight.

Kroger owns the Fred Meyer chain?
I thought they were competitors.
Wow, I must say I certainly learn not only more information from FR than anywhere else.

” I have never personally known anyone anyone under 21 who I would trust alone with an AR-15. With adult supervision, sure, but not alone.”

Why? Magazine capacity? Would you trust someone under 21 with a Mini-14 with a smaller mag?

Not trolling, just curious your logic.

You might be surprised how little training the average military people receive.
