David Wright should STFU

Nightline correspondent David Wright on Thursday night desperately attempted to get actress and singer Dolly Parton to label Donald Trump as the face of 21st century sexism. Talking to the entertainer about her role in the iconic film 9 to 5, Wright played a clip of Jane Fonda deriding her character’s boss as a “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot.”
Wright sneered, “The sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical portrayed so effectively in that movie by actor Dabney Coleman hasn’t exactly disappeared from the culture. We have a president of the United States who said the things on that bus.”
Accusations of sexual harassment and abuse certainly have surrounded Donald Trump. But they’ve also been plagued Bill Clinton for decades. Somehow, his name never came up as one of Wright's examples. Parton shut the journalist down, refusing to get political:
I'm not addressing that. I do not get into that. Of course I have my opinion about everybody and everything. But I learned a long time ago, keep your damn mouth shut if you want to stay in show business. I'm not in politics. I am an entertainer.
The ABC correspondent whined, “And yet you’re also a role model.”

She’s old school, a very good old school. America should have such women grace every corner of its communities. We can pray for a revival of what it means to be a real lady.

She dropped “Dixie” from the name of her restaurant/attraction “Dixie Stampede”...
This is the sad state of “journalism” today.
Old-time journalist to interviewee: “What is your opinion on this issue?”
Modern journalist to interviewee: “Here’s my opinion on this issue. You agree, don’t you?”
She recently took the “Dixie” out of her “Dixie Stampede” which is so unfortunate. I’m glad she didn’t jump on board the Trump hate bandwagon at least.
Tried to appease BLM activists by changing the name of her dinner theater from Dixie Stampede to simply Stampede.

Smart chick. I bought a straw hat at Dollywood years ago.
Now that is the definition of a role model. Too bad nobody else in show business is that smart.
Dabney Coleman is actually an excellent actor. He was great in The Guardian.

...and when Jane said this disgusting diatribe against President Trump, Dolly just looked coy and innocent.

And before someone pipes up to tell me how she helped her towns people when fire consumed much of the area almost 2 years ago, burned .....yeah sure.....she lives there, Dollywood is there and oh btw, the fire dept saved Dollywood

Meanwhile, the nut jobs at ABC don’t bother to mention that private citizen Donald Trump hired and promoted many female executives at his companies over the years.
We’ve taken only 4 vacations with our kids, but one was to Branson and the show we went to was the Dixie Stampede. One of my favorite memories ever.
Our two year old got a much loved stuffed horse as a souvenir. She named it “Stampede” despite our best efforts to talk her into naming it Dixie. I guess she was ahead of the PC curve.
Aww, at least you tried! ;) We like going down to Pigeon Forge & went to her show right before the name change. If I had known she was going to do that, we would have went elsewhere!
I am tired of the bus thing.
Trump said basically when you are a billionaire celebrity, many hypergamous women will hang all over you and pretty much will do anything to catch the prize.
What part of that statement is untrue? That is one of the main reasons that men have driven to riches and power since the beginning of time. Most men do not dream of becoming millionaires simply because they like to buy things
