The City of Mount Pleasant said in a tweet that the suspect is a black male and considered armed and dangerous. He was reportedly last seen near some railroad tracks.

There has been reports of gunshots on CMU’s campus.
They were fired at Campbell Hall.
Police say the suspect is still at large and advise everyone to take shelter.
The suspect is described as a black male.

Very unusual, CMU is a university in the middle of the lower peninsula. Central Michigan University. In Mt. Pleasant.
There are no real cities nearby. The university is heavily middle-class. The only other real economic activity in the city I know of is a big indian casino east of town.
Weather is pretty bad there now. This is huge news locally, I am sure.
