Senate Watch: North Dakota's Democratic Incumbent Struggling in New Polls
Townhall ^ | March 1, 2018

On paper, of the juiciest targets was North Dakota's Heidi Heitkamp. Donald Trump carried her state by a 63-27 margin in 2016, and Heitkamp has done Chuck Schumer's bidding on some big votes, from Obamacare to tax reform (about which she lied), to judicial nominations. Nevertheless, senior Republicans I spoke to in recent months were nervous about the lack of a formidable challenger to take her down. That all changed a few weeks ago, however:

...... I'd heard consistent reports from GOP sources that if Cramer decided to get into the race, he'd enter the contest in a strong polling position -- which would not be good news for a vulnerable incumbent like Heitkamp. And, voila:

Tarrance #NDSen: Cramer 49 Heitkamp 44

Heitkamp will go down. She is too liberal for ND.

And her brother is a talk show host in Fargo. He continually attacked her opponent, my former state rep. Rick Berg.

She needs to go as well as:

Claire McCaskill
Bill Nelson
Joe Donnelly
Jon Tester
Doug Jones
Sherrod Brown
Joe Manchin

Any others would be icing on the cake.

They also play the sexist/sexual harassment card against GOP men. Watch for Lisa Bloom since her mom destroyed Moore. Heidi will ride her broom back into office.

North Dakota had it’s state GOP Convention, losers can still challenge in the primary but more often than not they don’t, at least until recently.

In the US House Primary State Kelly Armstrong (Male) was endorsed over State Tom Campbell (who switched from the Senate race) and Iraq War Vet Tiffany Abentroth, both of whom say they will contest the primary.

Cramer was endorsed unanmously, he has weak primary challengers who intend to stay in the race.

Sec of State Al Jaeger, first elected in 1992 (the office switched to being elected in off-years in 2006, I don’t know why they switched some but not all the statewide offices), was defeated by the much younger Will Gardner, who amongst other things bemoaned Jaegar’s lack of tech savvy, increasingly important in managing elections, Jaegar was undecided on whether he’ll bow out last I heard, but he had nominating petitions at his booth during the convention, the deadline to file is this afternoon.

Jaeger should gracefully bow out. 26 years is a long time to serve in an office. If he’s not up to snuff on tech in a key position, having been elected before the internet was widespread for government business, that’s a valid reason for replacement.

The longest serving Sec of State is Bill Gardner in New Hampshire, who has been in since around 1976. Though that office is elected by the state legislature. Curiously, he’s a Democrat, but has apparently been so well-regarded that he’s been biannually elected by mostly Republican legislatures ever since.

Sec of State candidate Will Gardner apparently was arrested by a security guard for spanking it while looking inside the girl’s dorm at a college where he was employed in 2006, he was 29 and married at the time at the time. He has withdrawn from the race but his name remains the only one on the GOP primary ballot.

Incumbent Jaeger is gonna run as and Indie. No word about GOP replacement but it seems they will likely just back J as an Indie after Gardner declines the nomination.

Gardner moves to #2 on the all time “Shouldn’t have choked the chicken” list right behind Eternal Champ David Carradine and right ahead of the 10 million way tie for third for everyone who’s been caught by their mom.
