Liberal Late-Night Host Stephen Colbert Praises Donald Trump (on gun control)

Considering the ugly things Stephen Colbert has said about Donald Trump in the past and the fact that he has centered his career around criticizing the president, people may be a little surprised by his latest comments. On his most recent late-night talk show, Colbert actually praised Trump for his recent thoughts on gun control. “I have no explanation for what happened this afternoon,” said a stunned Colbert to his audience. Colbert then called Trump’s recent bipartisan meeting with members of Congress about finding a solution to gun violence “great.” Colbert took some swipes at Republican lawmakers, gun owners and Trump’s criticisms of former President Barack Obama — but he then praised the president because he “turned on the Republicans in the room.”

Matthew 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

There’s just something about Colbert I don’t like.

I just don’t think (his politics aside) that he’s particularly funny, spot on in his commentary or very talented.

I miss the old days of Carson, Leno and Letterman - before the latter became a bitter old crank.

Trump is merely negotiating.

He is an extremely practical person.

The reason why the retard is “successful” is because MOST late night viewers are Dummycrats and leftard. Conservatives tend to sleep in because they have jobs the next morning. So 4-eyes here plays on the Trump haters. They get a tingle up their legs when they hear any anti Trump joke..

Trump is merely negotiating.

It's his version of Ali's rope-a-dope. Trump lays on the ropes, taking punches, seemingly yielding, until his opponent, lulled into over-confidence,is suddenly felled by a unexpected sll-out assault that erases his previous gains.

And his deadly technique for the Dems is that he takes a position behind theirs and negotiates rightward.

They are flummoxed and divided.

I suggest we just ignore any of the mutterings of these overpaid adolescent haters. Even when they say something positive once in a blue moon.

Oh, yes, the vaunted 3D chess.

Well, this is my LIFE Trump is threatening to take away, by threatening to infringe my right to keep and bear arms. FReepers in states where carry is limited may not understand this, but the 2nd Amendment is the whole ball of wax for me. A politician touches that, and they are dead to me. Trump is talking down the NRA. Even if he never signs a gun ban, that is still DAMAGE to the 2nd Amendment. He is on THIN ICE.

If Trump has won Colbert over, then we have a big problem.

Gonna be a lot of disappointed Dems when the smoke clears.....and probably a lot of pissed off concern trolls who are counting on Trump betraying us to justify their penchant for whining.
