Shouldn’t need even that much, FRiend. How much of a bribe did some official extort from you for that one?
Year’s ago, the wife and I owned a small condo. We came home one night and I saw a guy jimmying another unit’s window. He saw me and took off. I called the cops and they were there in a flash. The police chopper even showed up. They caught the guy, cuffed him and put him in the back of a car...that was parked in front of and facing our unit. I’ll never forget the guy looking up thru the windshield of the cop car and yelling “I’ll get you. You’re dead. You’ll pay for this.”. I don’t know why I didn’t buy a weapon the very next day, but I didn’t.
Now however, I’ve taken care of that slight omission.
Glad you did well in your encounter with the dark side.
When I was single and had no children, I used to carry a pistol or revolver whenever I wanted, wherever I wanted, concealed or openly, as I saw fit. However, I did it knowing that I faced a stiff penalty from the state if I was caught carrying concealed without a permit (Virginia has never had a law against open-carry, at least in my lifetime).
When I got married and had kids, I bent my hardened principles enough to "kow-tow" to the state and obtain a concealed carry permit. I suppose in your eyes that makes me a coward, and maybe you're right, but I balanced the rights I know I have and which the state refuses to recognize, against the possibility of my son growing up with his father in prison, and I made my choice.
Wonder when his birthday is.
A year or so ago he could robbed, beaten, killed.
For the children, of course.
I won’t carry illegally...until things get so hairy that the police are having a hard time getting to work for the start of their shift, let alone going home at the end of it.
I refuse to pay for a right.
Fortunately, OC is legal here. I carry, you’re gonna see it.
