>>I think I saw three of them.

None of them “moved” me. And I love going to the movies.<<

Forgive me, but I didn’t think Dunkirk was that great.

My husband and I waited to rent Dunkirk and were so bored with it I actually fell asleep. Maybe it would have been better on a large screen but still boring.

I thought Dunkirk was insultingly bad. I-wanted-my-two-hours-back bad

I didn’t like the way they jumped back and forth in “Dunkirk”, because they did’t give you good clues about what they were doing, and I found it hard to keep track of.

Also, the Pilot scenes were just too drawn out, especially the one where the pilot wants to bug out, but feels the draw of duty to shoot down the HE-111 the flies by him on its way to bomb the ship.

My wife didn’t like the fact that they didn’t do enough to distinguish the soldiers from each other, and some of them were pretty similar looking. They didn’t give you enough cues, and you had to keep trying to figure it out.

Dunkirk was OK. I understand what the director was trying to do, but I think it was a little too disjointed for my tastes.

Evidently the whole flashback, split timelines and all of that crap are the norm these days.

I DO think it was a beautifully shot movie. So, its not the cinematographer’s problem. It was a writer problem.

Yep.

Saw it in an IMAX theater. It was an impressive spectacle, particularly the flight scenes, but not all that great a movie. On the small screen, I would have said, "Meh.".

Count me among the FReepers who are missing in action at the Box Office. I used to love movies, would go weekly with Mrs WBill. Now, I might see one or two a year - Dunkirk was the last.

I just watch all the pampered idiots at the Oscars, talking about how Trump supporters should be drawn and quartered, and I can't separate that from the movies that they're in. Why give my money, and particularly my time, to people who hate me?

“Forgive me, but I didn’t think Dunkirk was that great.”

No forgiveness needed. It stunk right up to the pitiful mock up of the Spitfire burning with a chunk of pipe holding the propeller where an engine should have been.
