He’s moving the conversation towards the fact that the mentally ill were released upon society and they get to decide if they want treatment or not - the insane get to call the shots because the laws say they can only be detained for very short periods and doctors are scared to death to insist they are nuts enough to require being held and treated because of lawsuits. I’ve seen it in action regarding a person who really needed help being allowed to decide crawling around in her own feces and being so out of her head she didn’t know close friends (on numerous occasions) didn’t mean she needed help
Apparently the killer wrote letters, notes etc saying he was a threat to himself and others. This amounts to a felony in FL according to the female NRA spokesperson I heard on FOX this morning and provided due process to effectively arrest him and confiscate guns - however, the sheriff did not do anything.
Then the people in the system failed. The answer isn’t to ignore the law and the Constitution.
