TRUMP 2020? YES! When the 2016 primary season started, there were 17 Republican candidates in the field. In my estimation, Donald Trump ranked somewhere between #15 and #17. (It was hard to take George Pataki, for example, seriously.) I was surprised when he emerged from the pack, and I worried about whether he was conservative enough to be the Republican nominee, but I was never a Never Trumper. And I was one of the few who predicted that he would win the election.
A year into his administration, I am impressed: so far, Trump is obviously, in my view, our best president since Reagan. And based on his first year in office, he might be even better.
We have a long way to go before Donald Trump is ranked with the Gipper. For one thing, he will have to win a second term. I have wondered about that. Does Trump, already 71 years old, even want to serve eight years as president? That question was answered, seemingly, today, as President Trump announced that digital strategist Brad Parscale will be his 2020 campaign manager.
I have no opinion on Mr. Parscale, a social media guru, as a campaign manager. What is significant is that President Trump is laying down a marker. The Left has hoped to drive him from office, through impeachment, an absurd 25th Amendment process, or sheer breath-holding, foot-stamping, red-face-turning toddler dementia.
Trumps announcement was an answer to the Lefts hysterical demands: Sorry, Im not going anywhere. Youre going to have beat me at the ballot box, where I won last time. Based on where we sit today, I think that is a very good thing.

Dwayne Johnson, as VP.
:D
Just saying. Before you say no, learn about the guy a bit.
I think he would be unbeatable, as a VP candidate. For real.
Here in Nevada, get rid of Heller, Texas dump Lyn' Ted, and so forth.
I admit I had a brief moment today of wondering what the point of even talking about 2020 now could be.... but then I realized what Hinderaker is pointing out here, it is “laying down a marker” and saying “I, Donald Trump, POTUS, am in this for the long haul. I am not going anywhere!”
Yes, it is an important, aggressive response to all the drooling Leftards in the MSM and Democrap Party. Let them know they are LOSERS, they will continue to be LOSERS, and they will not succeed in driving POTUS Trump from office.
Johnson? Phan Bo.
Trump needs a Vice President that will carry on his agenda....
Ronald Reagan’s biggest mistake the first GEORGE BUSH
Eight years wasted ....only the fall of the USSR....
Pence is no Bush 41.
Pence is no Bush 41. I wish eh had more of a mean streak though.
All I am saying it to keep him in mind.
He is interested in the office. He ran as a Republican, until recently (now he has sworn off party affiliation)
He has a TON of charisma. He is the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he is half black incidentally, just like Obama, and he VOTES REPUBLICAN.
(at least he did recently)
Unstoppable, I believe. As strong a candidate, as Trump.
Completely, the guy I am for. At least, from what I have seen thus far.
The only way Trump loses in 2020 is if he betrays his base.
Short of that he’s a shoe-in.
IMHO this announcement by President Trump is more of a strategy for the 2018 mid terms. I think he is doing what he can to gear up and support Republicans come November. Not that he will not run again in 2020.
Is that Viet for bullshit?
He won’t lose his base, but by ourselves we are not sufficient to guarantee his re-election.
And, if he loses even a small portion of his base he can’t even win the nomination.
No POTUS has ever been as reliant upon his base supporters as Trump.
...Here in Nevada, get rid of Heller, Texas dump Lyn’ Ted, and so forth.

I see youre still on your jihad to (not so) subtly sabotage Trumps ability to accomplish his agenda,
Okay, so with Lyn’ Ted and Heller undercutting Trump when it suites them and hurts Trump most, that’s okay with you? Getting rid of these to Never Trumpers does not sabotage Trump’s ability to accomplish his agenda. Seriously, are you defending Heller and Lyn’ Ted?!
