A small town in southwestern Germany has voted to keep a controversial church bell dedicated to former Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler.
The bell, which is inscribed with a Nazi swastika and words that state Everything for the Fatherland Adolf Hitler, serves as a memorial in a Protestant church in Herxheim am Berg.
According to the DPA news agency, the council in the small town voted 10-3 on Monday to preserve the bell, which were widespread during the Nazi era but mostly removed after the war.

Is this a town that received a large population of migrants?
Good thing it’s not a Confederate bell or some would burn down the church.
Its Godwin’s Law that everything is Hitler.
A bell in Germany has revealed the truth of this cliche.
This is a town in the Rhineland near Frankfurt, not quite Southern Germany. I personally believe its better to leave ugly reminders instead of sweeping them away.
You’d better bell-leave it.
Was Hitler even a Christian. He was into misticism and old Germanic religion, which was pagan.
I was surprised to discover there’s a Protestant town in a Catholic region.
You learn something new every day.
He was born a Catholic in Austria but detested the Church and organized religion.
Hitler considered Christianity to be a soft religion.
Of course, he couldn’t go around insulting Christianity in public, if he wanted to gain power, so he threw Christians an occasional bone.
Wine district town....about a 20 minute drive west of Mannheim. Region heavily affected by Thirty-Years War.
In general, northern Germany is Lutheran Protestant and southern Germany is Catholic.
Hitler was a leftist progressive who successfully implemented leftist programs. This bell can be a reminder of what that leads to.
Good for this town to have the courage to keep an important historical artifact in the face of the PC crowd.
Hitler was also okay with people like Himmler who were quite interested in blending anti-Semitism, Germanic mythology and the occult to create a new religion. Other than co-opting the more popular trappings of the established churches until they were no longer needed, the National Socialist German Workers Party had no time for Christian denominations and even less time for Jesus Christ himself.
The Nazis put an inordinate amount of effort into obtaining and then housing relics of the old Holy Roman Empire, apparently thinking they could derive some sort of supernatural power by possessing them.
It isn’t wise to erase history. Keep it and teach the children. The members probably can’t afford a new bell.

Do these “journalists”, prior to hitting “send”, even pretend to read what they have just composed?
Their just rede dictating it to Merkel Die Sau und Fuehrerin.
My understanding is that Hitler viewed religion with contempt but said it was a useful tool to “re-educate” the people.
Muslims admire Hitler.
Send it to the Phillipines.
