SUPER-SECRET SPY COURT RAISES ALARM OVER FEDS' SNOOPING
WND ^ | 1/25/2018 | ALICIA POWE

WASHINGTON – It’s a mysterious court that hides behind a hulking vaulted door and impenetrable concrete walls – and it’s where the federal government makes some of its most secretive decisions concerning Americans’ basic liberties.

If you dare ask where the secret court is located, employees at the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington, D.C. – where the court reportedly relocated in 2009 – won’t tell you.

That’s because the super-secret court is far beyond the reach of any journalist or curious American citizen.

biometric-hand-scannerFortified with biometric hand scanners, wooden and metal doors and walls reinforced by concrete, it’s the room where it all happens: Eleven powerful court judges approve wiretaps, data collection and government requests to monitor suspected terrorists, spies and even American citizens. And they’re given sweeping power under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA.

In 2013, Eric Mill – a blogger and alum of the Sunlight Foundation, a nonprofit organization that advocates for government transparency – documented his efforts to learn more about the nation’s most secure and secretive courtroom.

Secret courts enforcing secret law, and only the prosecutor gets to be there. I cannot think of any bigger slap in the face to the founding principles of this republic.

"“If they will spy on the president of the United States, or a candidate for the presidency of the United States, do you think they are going to [spy on] somebody like you?” he asked. “They can surveil whomever they want to, do whatever they want to.”

Remember....every branch/division of the government is populated mostly by Democrat/liberals.

The IRS, EPA and FBI have already been caught operating against the interests of the American people.

IMO, the others just haven't been caught yet.

It is an absolute MIRACLE that Trump was elected.

The Star Chamber (Latin: Camera stellata) was an English court of law which sat at the royal Palace of Westminster, from the late 15th century to the mid-17th century (c. 1641), and was composed of Privy Councillors and common-law judges, to supplement the judicial activities of the common-law and equity courts in civil and criminal matters. The Star Chamber was originally established to ensure the fair enforcement of laws against socially and politically prominent people so powerful that ordinary courts would probably hesitate to convict them of their crimes. However, it became synonymous with social and political oppression through the arbitrary use and abuse of the power it wielded

The Founders intended this to be done with no court at all. Just Congressional oversight.
Guess this is better considering the volume of cases technology has created.

Must be a tough job, they stick the newbie jusges with it.
