Former Land Commish Larry Patterson (who lost the primary for LT Governor in 2014) is running against Bush, as are a couple nobodies. Patterson appears to have ties to the Paultard wing of the party but still has my support over Jr. Dauphin.

I think that President Trump is staying out of the primary, but Donald Jr. has endorsed George P. Bush, who was one of the first prominent TX Republicans to endorse and campaign for Donald Trump in 2016 (after his dad dropped out of the race, of course).
I don’t see this primary as such a clear-cut choice. Even if Patterson is more conservative than Bush (which I don’t know for a fact; both candidates are claiming to be more conservative and to have a more conservative record), I question Patterson’s judgment in not endorsing Trump after the nomination fight was over.
