Nunes says "the FBI had 'reasonable basis for finding Steele credible,'" however, the source of a lot of Steele's dossier is reportedly not-Steele--quite possibly Clinton associates--and no vetting was done by Steele. Thus, Steele's possible past credibility has little to do with the dossier's credibility reasonably deriving from Steele's "reflected glow."

The Dems and media have long lied to say the Steele dossier was "oppo research," as if it was a well-intentioned, scholarly stab at the truth, but that's just not so. In UK interviews, Steele disclosed that the original construct for it to be a whisper campaign document. In other words, it was salacious fiction by design and nothing like research played any part.

Oops, I should have Nunes relays that info about the Steele dossier's supposed credibility on the basis of Dems' claims, rather than letting it seemingly appear to be Nunes' idea.
