"Symantec has been horrible for decades. Its junk on par with McAfee." Symantec also owns "Norton", if I'm not mistaken. Can you recommend a good security software product similar to Norton that is not affiliated with Symantec?

I mentioned in previous post that Symantec also owns "Norton" (if I'm not mistaken), and I asked that poster I addressed there if they could recommend another security software package like Norton that is just as good as Norton, but is not affiliated with Symantec.
I'd like to ask everyone else here as well if they could also recommend some good security software packages like Norton, but unaffiliated with Symantec. Thanks to all in advance.

Avast (paid) is done well by me.
I tolerate the occasional ad for their VPN or their equivalent of system mechanic which I like.
For VPN, I use AirVPN. It runs just fine in both ‘doze and Linux.
