If he is like most sheriffs in the south, he is elected and it would be very difficult to remove him.
Is everybody in the whole frikkin’ dept just getting in their days before their pension? Good grief, what a bunch of gutless pansies while HS kids are being massacred.
Fire this dickwad sheriff and loser wray. In Japan they would commit ritual suicide, get started fools.
Someone ordered those deputies to not enter and I’m betting it was that asswipe liberal hitlery fanboy sheriff.
What good are they? Well, they help keep the donut population under control.
There’s big money at stake, and they know how to wring it out of the taxpayers.

The buck stops with the Sheriff, at least it should. This Sheriff will throw his deputies under the bus so he can stay in front of the cameras.
As I recall, the police and SWAT teams took a very long time before entering Columbine HS, long after the shooting stopped... and not one tiny bit of criticism was sent their way. Why the change now?
Because the training standards were changed specifically because of Columbine.

Supporters get the jobs, litmus test. You know, sorta like “affirmative action” where competence and merit take a back seat

Two years ago, the Sun Sentinel reported that Israel was rewarding top political supporters by giving them and their family members cushy jobs doing public relations and community outreach for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. One such position, outreach manager, paid out a salary of $78,489. The person who got that job was the husband of Israel’s campaign manager.
Israel’s opponents say he’s built a publicly funded political machine, paying back supporters with jobs and using them to keep him in office. They say the money could be better spent, particularly after the sheriff complained about not having enough funding to secure the county courthouse, where a murder suspect recently escaped.
Gee, imagine that!
Throughout last 75 yrs, in my area, if you weren’t a registered Democrat...jobs at certain places could not be gotten. That has changed in past decade or so. Many just registered Democrat and voted Republican.
One teacher was fired in 60’s for voting republican, and parents turned over cars at the school because of it..lol I wasn’t here at time, however, those who were told me about how the principal was threatened.
Sheriff Israel should be gone...yesterday!
