Did peterson have prior run ins with cruz?
Where any or cruz' illegal or threatening activities captured on the school videos?
Did peterson edit/despoil that video evidence?
He left two unarmed athletic coaches to try and defend the children against an AR 15 with nothing more than their bodies. He is a worthless POS.
Same here in San Diego. My buddy was an SRO and he was just a regular Deputy. 7-4, M-F job. During the spring/summer breaks he was back on patrol duty, nights and weekends.
Also, he knew every "bad apple" on campus very well, as I'm sure this Deputy Scot Peterson did. I saw several reports that Deputy Peterson called in a description of the shooter including clothing. If he saw Cruz anywhere near the school, he should have been all over him, or at a minimum on heightened alert.
Having armed personnel in schools and other “gun free” zone will be a damned if you do, damned if you don’t endeavour.
The socialist-democrats will crucify anyone who stops an active shooter who happens to be a student, and the socialist-democrats will do everything in their power to make sure mentally ill kids can perpetuate these murders unimpeded.

It's possible he got the description from someone else, but that's not clear at this point. Seems no new details are coming out since it was revealed to be such a Cluster F.

Procedure since Columbine is the first officers on the scene must go in immediately to try and stop the killing, even if they are alone. The killing is usually over by the time more officers can arrive and get into the building. Hence what some call a ‘suicide entrance” has to be made.
